Corri's pic showed up on Jeff Smith's blog this weekend, reporting on last week's NYC Comiccon. Corri was actually the first in line of his first signing (at the DC Booth- Jeff is busy revamping Shazam for them).

It was truly awesome that Corri got to have such a good moment with Jeff. She attended his panel, got to ask a question (on Bone character clothing, reported by Quickstop Entertainment here), met him with photos and even got him to do a Mad Hatter Bone drawing*. I was really happy for her, since I've had the chance now to meet and chat with my absolute favorite and most inspiring writers & artists (Albee, Layton, O'Barr & Mignola) and I know how meaningful being able to interact with them and have a token to remember the occasion by can be.

* As is our meeting-comic-creator-tradition, we like to have everyone draw their interpretation of the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland (as opposed to some comic perversion of like the Batman villain or something). The result is a really cool collection of Lewis Carroll-inspired sketches from artists such as David Mack, Eric Larson, Jeff Smith and more. It's impressive to see how sometimes the most incredible versions are actually from the lesser-known creators. Every now and then we'll get a straight-away character shot like Sean Chen's Iron Man, James O'Barr's Crow or Edlund's Tick-- but that's really because that's what they do best or the situation begged such an opportunity.
